Assam Governor Encourages Farmers and Entrepreneurs During Kokrajhar Visit
Kokrajhar: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Kokrajhar, where he engaged with farmers, artisans, weavers, and entrepreneurs, acknowledging their vital role in strengthening Assam’s economy.
During his interaction, the Governor praised their contributions to organic farming, traditional weaving, and entrepreneurship, describing these sectors as crucial in making the state and the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) more self-reliant.
Acharya urged these groups to serve as role models for future entrepreneurs, inspiring a new generation to contribute to the region’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. He emphasized that self-sufficiency and innovation in these industries would pave the way for sustainable economic development.
Highlighting the Central Government’s commitment to uplifting farmers, Acharya spoke about various welfare schemes launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He encouraged attendees to take full advantage of these initiatives, which aim to enhance agricultural sustainability and economic stability in Assam.
As part of his visit, the Governor also handed over essential goods to the District Commissioner of Kokrajhar under the Assam Amrit Sarovar Sadbhavna Sangat Protsahan Yojana, reinforcing his support for developmental efforts in the region. His visit underscored the government’s focus on empowering grassroots industries and fostering sustainable growth across Assam.
