Governor Acharya described the past year as a transformative period for the state, noting remarkable progress in law enforcement, development initiatives, and conservation efforts.
He emphasized the state government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, which has been instrumental in reducing crime and tackling insurgency.
The governor pointed to the surrender of several militant groups and the signing of peace accords as evidence of the administration’s success in securing long-term stability.
Addressing social challenges, Acharya reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug abuse, child marriage, and human trafficking.
He commended the authorities for making significant arrests and seizing large quantities of contraband, while also acknowledging a reduction in crimes against women.
Efforts to eliminate child marriage and human trafficking remain ongoing, he said, with strict measures in place to deter offenders.
The governor also underlined the administration’s focus on inclusive growth, ensuring that development reaches even the most remote and marginalized communities.
Women’s empowerment has been a key priority, with numerous initiatives designed to uplift and support women across the state.
Welfare schemes spanning education, agriculture, tourism, and rural development were highlighted as critical components of the government’s strategy to improve living standards.
Looking ahead, Acharya drew attention to the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, set to take place in February.
The event, which aims to attract industry leaders from Bhutan and other South Asian nations, is expected to catalyze economic growth and solidify Assam’s position as a regional economic hub.
