Guwahati: Regional language research articles would henceforth be accepted by academic journals, Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi informed on Saturday.
The governor made a number of announcements regarding higher education while speaking to the media at Raj Bhawan in Guwahati’s Kharguli hills area.
Research papers can now be written in regional languages, the speaker declared.
Important announcements about the appointment of professors at central universities were also made by Prof. Mukhi.
“Universities will need to place adverts on the hiring of teachers in national newspapers,” he declared. It will be necessary to place advertisements in at least four national publications.
The governor also requested that colleges make sure their facilities and educational standards are on pace with those seen around the world.
Prof. Mukhi added, “A panel will also be established under the Governor’s supervision for the nomination of the Vice-Chancellor of universities.”
