Assam Govt 280 Specially-Abled Teachers Get Appointment Letters
Guwahati: 280 candidates with specially-abled has given appointment letters by Assam’s education minister Ranoj Pegu for regular teaching positions in various schools across the state’s districts administered by the Directorate of Elementary Education.
The appointment letters were distributed during a session on Tuesday at the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Convention and Training Centre in Guwahati.
A total of 193 candidates have been appointed in lower primary schools, 75 in upper primary and 12 as science teachers in upper primary schools.
Pegu said in his address that Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, had brought about a revolutionary transformation in the appointment of teachers by holding Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exams in a free and fair way.
All of the candidates were urged by him to think positively and advance with the intention of serving the country through their chosen profession of teaching. He added that the education department has been working tirelessly to build the school infrastructure in order to guarantee high-quality education.
