Assam Govt Appoints 14 ‘Guardian Ministers’ For All Districts
Guwahati: The Assam government appointed ministers who will serve as guardians for several districts within the state on Friday.
The guardians, each a minister of Himanta Biswa Sarma cabinet, have been given responsibility of 2-3 districts to take stock of welfare schemes, implementation of infrastructure projects etc.
They will be responsible for administration in the districts under their responsibility but won’t be actively involved with the people.
The nominations were announced by the Assam Governor in an official announcement released on Friday.
