Guwahati, 1 June: Assam government’s important decisions regarding driving license and Registration Certificate were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Janata Bhawan. In the meeting the administration took various decisions but among the various decisions there was a talk regarding driving licence and Registration certificate.
The decision regarding this was announced by minister Jayanta Malla Barua after the end of cabinet meeting. The transport department will issue driving licences and registration certificates through electric, self-printable PDF modes. Moreover, driving license and RC will be available digitally from now onwards and no more hard copies will be required.
Along with this, the department will completely stop the system of running licenses and registration certificates of smart card vehicles containing QR after 3 months.
