Assam: Govt Employee Held On Bribery Charges in Cachar

Guwahati: A government employee has been arrested by sleuths of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell while allegedly accepting bribes in Cachar district of Assam on Wednesday.

The accused employee identified as Madan Singha.

Singha was caught red-handed by the Vigilance team while allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.

It has been learned that the bribe was demanded in order to process the complainant’s commutation loan, who is a retired public official.

Informing the news on Twitter, Special Director General of Police (DGP), Law and Order, GP Singh wrote,” Today, a team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM caught red handed Sh Madan Singha, Senior Account Assistant O/O Treasury officer, Cachar in his office receiving bribe of Rs 10000. The bribe was demanded for processing of commutation loan of the complainant, who is a retired public servant.”
