Assam govt to invest Rs 1000 crore for development of sports infra
Guwahati: The Assam government has decided to invest over Rs 1,000 crores on sports infrastructure development in the state.
This was stated by Assam Sports Minister Bimal Borah on Tuesday.
While addressing a gathering, Borah said the state chief minister has made a number of steps to help Assam’s infrastructure development.
“The state administration, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has taken several efforts for the development of infrastructure in the state’s sports sector,” Borah added.
“At the district level, ten sports complexes would be built, with each district level sports complex costing roughly Rs 50 crores,” Borah stated.
“Aside from that, we’ve agreed to build a multipurpose stadium in each of the 40 assembly constituencies, with each stadium costing roughly Rs 12 crore. Construction is currently underway, and all projects are expected to be completed within two years “he added.
