Assam Govt To No Longer Hold ME TET Exam

Guwahati: Assam government stated that the state will no longer conduct the Middle English (M.E.) Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) examination.

As per reports, the state’s education department informed the Gauhati High Court that the ME TET exam would no longer be held in the state.

However, the supreme court hasn’t made any decisions or issued any orders about the problem.

Assam government announced that the TET would not be held in the state for the following two years in January of this year.

According to Ranoj Pegu, the decision was taken as there are many candidates who have passed the TET examination against the available vacancies.

Pegu said, “CTET qualified candidates will now be allowed to apply for jobs from this year onwards. Candidates who have already qualified CTET will be able to submit their application against vacant posts.”

When approached by reporters to comment on the state government’s decision Sankar Jyoti Baruah secretary of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) stated that many applicants expect to gain jobs by passing TET exams.
