Assam Govt Will Help In Sainik School Infrastructure Development

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday urged students to pursue their objectives without giving up on their goals.

Speaking at an event held at Goalpara Sainik School, the chief minister encouraged the students to learn and pass on their languages to one another. He stated that special measures will be taken to upgrade the school’s infrastructure in the coming five years.

“Our government is committed to improve infrastructure of the school. We will provide with swimming pool, athletic track, indoor stadium, whatever be the requirement,” CM Sarma said.

The Goalpara Sainik School alumnus who is currently the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita, was present at the event. CM Sarma urged the students to follow his lead and expressed confidence that the school would continue to produce more high ranking officers.

Sarma also urged the students to graduate out of Sainik School with flying colours in order to make up for the difficulties their families have had to endure in providing for them, both financially and emotionally. The chief minister also emphasised the importance of teachers in helping kids succeed and asked them to give it their all.

“If any teacher does not have the aptitude to put in their maximum effort, I suggest they seek transfer to some other school,” he said.

During his visit, the chief minister originally inaugurated a 350-seat amphitheatre on the school grounds. The students gave him a guard of honour, which the visiting dignitary found impressive.
