Assam: GRP Arrests Bihar Resident with Arms and Ammunition at Rangia Railway Station

Guwahati, 31st July: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on July 30 apprehended Noor Ali, a resident of Bihar, at Rangia railway station. The arrest followed reliable intelligence that Ali was attempting to board a train with illegal arms and ammunition.

During the search, police recovered a .3 caliber pistol with two magazines, 13 loose bullets, and a handmade pistol from Ali’s bag. Other items seized included a mobile phone, a large sum of unaccounted cash, a knife, and a knuckle duster.

Authorities have reported that Noor Ali was allegedly en route to Ahmedabad with the contraband. The motive behind transporting the weapons is currently under investigation.

This operation highlights the GRP’s continued commitment to safeguarding railway passengers and infrastructure by preventing illegal activities. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover any potential connections and the full scope of Ali’s activities.
