Assam: Gunman Opens Fire on Shopkeeper in Bongaigaon, Investigation Underway
Bongaigaon: Tension escalated in Nityabazar, Bongaigaon district, after an unidentified assailant opened fire near Boitamari Police Outpost late on February 16. The incident has sparked panic among residents, prompting authorities to launch a full-scale investigation.
According to reports, the gunman, riding a motorcycle, targeted a local shopkeeper, Abdus Salam, a resident of Kayethpara First Part. However, Salam miraculously escaped unharmed, as the bullets missed their mark.
Security forces have intensified their efforts to trace the assailant and establish the motive behind the attack. The firing incident has raised concerns over law and order in the area, with locals demanding swift action to ensure safety.
