Assam: Gunshots Shatter Peace in Rangapara Tea Estate; Young Man Found Dead

Guwahati: The tranquil atmosphere of Rangapara colony tea estate in Assam was shattered late Thursday night as residents were jolted awake by the sound of gunfire. The incident, which occurred in the vicinity of the Joy Guru Temple, has left the community in shock and mourning.

Tragically, the gunshots claimed the life of a young man identified as David Changa, a resident of the Hospital Line area within the tea estate. Reports indicate that the fatal shooting took place at approximately 12:30 a.m. when an unidentified assailant opened fire on Changa before swiftly fleeing the location.

A local woman residing close to where the incident unfolded recounted hearing the unsettling sounds of gunshots piercing the night’s silence. Promptly responding to the distress calls, the Rangapara Police arrived at the scene. During their initial investigation, law enforcement officials recovered an empty cartridge, which is suspected to be linked to the firearm used in the deadly attack.

In the wake of this violent crime, authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the murder of David Changa. His body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing inquiry. Police are diligently exploring all possible aspects of the case, including potential motives behind the killing and any individuals who may be involved in this heinous act.
