Assam: In a targeted operation, the Paltan Bazaar Police Station under the City Guwahati Police Department (CGPD) raided the New Star Beauty & Spa Salon in Ulubari on Monday, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of illegal substances.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Saleha Khatun (21) from Dalgaon, Trisha Das (23) from Latasil, and Munni Khan (24) from Abhayapuri. During the raid, authorities recovered seven vials of suspected heroin, weighing 9.28 grams, and nine wraps of ganja, weighing 81.05 grams.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are underway to uncover the source of the contraband and to determine whether the suspects are connected to a broader drug network operating in the region.
The CGPD has reaffirmed its commitment to curbing drug-related activities in the city and has urged the public to report any suspicious activities. Further developments in the case are awaited as the investigation continues.
