The event, part of the Jhumoir Binandini programme, will be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding national importance to the celebration of Assam’s rich heritage.

A total of 5,399 female dancers, 2,175 male dancers, and 2,074 musicians will take the stage in what is expected to be the largest-ever showcase of the traditional Jhumoir dance. The performance coincides with the 200th anniversary of Assam’s tea industry, further elevating the significance of the event.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has closely reviewed the final preparations, ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the smooth execution of the event. Minister Ashok Singhal also underscored the historic nature of the celebration, noting the pride of having Prime Minister Modi in attendance for this grand cultural spectacle.

The event is expected to attract dignitaries, industrialists, and visitors from across India and beyond, marking it as one of Assam’s most significant cultural gatherings in recent years. The Jhumoir Binandini programme also aligns with the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ initiative, which aims to boost cultural pride and create new investment opportunities for the state.
