Assam: Health Worker Found Dead in Bongaigaon Staff Quarters, Investigation Underway
Guwahati: The lifeless body of Hemchandra Sarkar, a Multi-Purpose Worker (MPW) with the health department, was found in suspicious circumstances at the staff quarters of Boitamari Model Hospital in Bongaigaon, Assam, on October 14. The discovery of Sarkar’s body in a bloody state has raised concerns and prompted an immediate police investigation.
Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of death remains unclear, with authorities working to piece together the events leading up to the incident. Sarkar’s family has expressed doubts regarding the circumstances of his death, suggesting that it may not have been a natural occurrence.
The family also claimed that no hospital staff or health department personnel informed them about the incident, despite their proximity to the quarters at the time. Bongaigaon police are continuing their investigation to uncover the truth behind Sarkar’s death.
