Assam: Home Minister Amit Shah to Visit State Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, 29th March: Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit the poll-bound state of Assam on April 6, amidst the looming Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, Shah will participate in public events scheduled in Lakhimpur and Hojai in Assam.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed Shah’s visit to Guwahati on April 6 during a media interaction on Tuesday. Additionally, CM Sarma hinted at possible visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda in the near future.
Earlier, on March 28, CM Sarma chaired a pivotal meeting at the BJP headquarters in Guwahati to strategize for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The meeting also aimed to review arrangements for Home Minister Amit Shah’s forthcoming visit to Assam on April 6.
Furthermore, Sarma disclosed that the BJP-led government had extended invitations to PM Modi for rallies in Kokrajhar and Nalbari. However, the Prime Minister’s schedule for these events remains unconfirmed.
