Assam: Huge Cache Of Warlike Stores Recovered In Sonitpur

Guwahati: A vast cache of war-like items including explosives and firearms were recovered from a tea estate in Missamari under Sonitpur district of Assam on Wednesday.

According to reports, the stash was hidden beneath the Belsiri River’s banks in a woodland section of the Kamengbari tea estate.

Police recovered a large number of pistols, rifles including live ammunition and explosives, sources informed.

The item was found during an operation under the direction of Sonitpur Additional Superintendent of Police Madhurima Das.

The guns and explosives were allegedly hidden there by a terrorist group in preparation for future criminal activity.

Further investigation is on.
