Assam: IISF 2024 Concludes with Record Attendance, Showcasing India’s Scientific Prowess

Guwahati: The 10th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2024 concluded on a high note, drawing a record attendance of over 45,000 people.

The four-day event, held in Guwahati, Assam, celebrated India’s scientific achievements and fostered innovation and collaboration.

Addressing the valedictory ceremony, Assam Minister for Science, Technology, and Climate Change, Keshab Mahanta, commended the festival for its inspiring display of innovation, knowledge-sharing, and the coming together of participants from diverse backgrounds. He highlighted Assam’s commitment to advancing science and technology to build a sustainable and self-reliant future for India.

Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Director-General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), emphasized the organization’s dedication to nurturing innovative ideas through initiatives like student hackathons and mission-driven programs.

The IISF 2024 featured a wide range of events, including the Science Institutional Leaders Meet and roundtable discussions on critical topics such as sustainability, education, manufacturing, healthcare, and agriculture. These discussions brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and academicians to chart a path toward self-reliance and global competitiveness.

The festival also saw significant participation from the Northeast region, with over 50% of attendees hailing from the region. The daily average footfall exceeded 10,000, with more than 400 resource persons and 7,000 registered delegates attending the technical sessions.

IISF 2024 has once again solidified its position as a premier platform for showcasing India’s scientific advancements and fostering a vibrant scientific community.
