Guwahati: In the ongoing war against drugs Assam Police seized codeine-based cough syrup worth two crores in Karimganj district.
A team from Badarpur Police Station in an operation seized around 38000 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup. The officials further informed that the drug was destined for the international narcotics trade.
The bottles were concealed under stacks of cement bags.
Legal action has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
