Guwahati: As many as 44 illegally transported cattle were recovered by Assam Police from Jorabat during the early hours of Tuesday.
According to reports, the police intercepted two trucks carrying cattles on NH-37.
Reportedly, the two smugglers who were arrested have been identified as Abul Kalam and Abdul Hamid.
However, the cattles were smuggled from Mangaldai and Baihata of Assam.
The vehicle and the animals have been recovered by the legal authorities.
