Assam: Infant dies after falling into pond in Mankachar
Guwahati, 22nd April: In a tragic incident, one-year-old died after falling into a pond in Assam’s Mankachar on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred in Borbila village.
The one-year-old has been identified as Arshad Ali, son of Mashidul Islam.
Despite the family’s immediate action in rushing the child to Hatsingimari district hospital, doctors pronounced him brought dead upon arrival.
Following the incident, authorities swung into action. The Kalapani police, accompanied by a magistrate, conducted a preliminary inquiry at the hospital.
Subsequently, the child’s body was transferred to Dhubri in the early hours of the following day for post-mortem examination.
While the family grapples with the loss of their child, the precise circumstances leading to the tragic incident remain under investigation. Authorities are diligently examining the sequence of events surrounding the toddler’s fall into the water, aiming to shed light on the unfortunate accident.
