Assam: Inquiry Launched into Alleged Improper Body Checking During ADRE Grade 3 Examination in Nalbari

Guwahati, 16th September: Allegations of improper body checking by women police personnel during the screening of female candidates at the ADRE Grade 3 examination in Nalbari have prompted an official investigation. Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh has directed the Range DIG of the Central Western Range to lead the inquiry into the incident.

The complaints arose during the recruitment examination on September 15, raising concerns about the conduct of women officers responsible for checking female candidates. The DGP assured that the investigation will be handled promptly, with the Range DIG, Nalbari District Commissioner, and Superintendent of Police—all women—overseeing the inquiry to ensure a thorough and impartial review.

Over 11 lakh candidates participated in the ADRE exam across 2,305 examination centres in Assam.
