Guwahati: A jawan allegedly committed suicide by using his service weapon in Tinsukia district of Assam during the wee hours of Wednesday.
The jawan has been identified as Ashok.
As per reports, jawan allegedly shot himself with his service rifle at around 3 am at his room.
The jawan was posted at Doom Dooma ARC.
The reason behind the apparent suicide is not known.
Meanwhile, the body of the jawan has been taken to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
