Assam: Journalist Jadu Kakati No More; CM Sarma offers condolences

Guwahati, 5th Jan: The demise of esteemed journalist Jadu Kakati on January 5 marks the end of an era in Assamese journalism. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expresses his condolences, recognizing Kakati’s unparalleled contribution to the field since the 1960s.

Kakati, a stalwart in journalism, garnered accolades for his commitment to ethics and the pursuit of truth throughout his illustrious career. His impact was acknowledged with the prestigious Republic Day Journalist Award.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a tweet, mourns the loss, stating, “Saddened by the news of the passing away of veteran journalist Jadu Kakati… I pray for the well-being of the departed soul and convey my deepest condolences to his bereaved family.” The Chief Minister acknowledges the void left by the departure of this seasoned journalist.
