Guwahati, 8th June: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Karbi Anglong Police have seized a substantial quantity of heroin and apprehended two individuals in Lahorijan. The operation, part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking, resulted in the interception of a vehicle transporting 845 grams of heroin concealed in secret chambers.
The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, lauded the Assam Police for their relentless efforts in combating the drug menace gripping the state. Interrogation of the apprehended individuals revealed that the heroin consignment was being transported from a neighbouring state.
The Assam Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking, conducting frequent raids and intercepting narcotics consignments. With a zero-tolerance policy towards the drug menace, the state government has pledged to take stringent measures against those involved in the illegal trade. This operation marks another step in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens.
