Assam: Karimganj district Enhances Security on Bangladesh Border Amid Ongoing Crisis

Guwahati, 6th August: In response to the escalating crisis in Bangladesh, India has heightened security measures along the 100-km border in Karimganj district. The Border Security Force (BSF), local police, and Village Defense Parties (VDP) have been mobilized to ensure rigorous surveillance and control of the area.

Karimganj District Commissioner Mrinal Yadav has announced that Indian nationals seeking to return from Bangladesh can contact a designated helpline for assistance. This initiative is part of a broader effort to maintain safety and order amid the ongoing developments.

Additionally, the two immigration check posts on the Bangladesh-Karimganj border have been instructed to perform thorough checks of travel documents. This measure is designed to prevent illegal crossings and ensure that all entries are properly documented, underscoring the district’s commitment to border security and orderly migration.
