Assam: Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve to Close Tourist Season on May 31

Guwahati, 17th May: The Divisional Forest Officer of the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division has announced the official closure of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve to tourists on May 31, 2024, marking the conclusion of the 2023-24 tourist season at this esteemed UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Initially, plans were in place to close Elephant and Jeep Safaris within the park from May 1 and May 16, respectively, citing adverse weather conditions and challenging road conditions as safety concerns for visitors. However, a recent update from the Divisional Forest Officer has extended the operation of Jeep Safaris until May 31, 2024, providing tourists with an extended opportunity to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife of Kaziranga National Park.

While Elephant Safaris remain suspended for the season, this extension of Jeep Safari operations offers an additional window for visitors to explore and appreciate the natural splendor and ecological richness of the park before the seasonal closure.

Tourists are encouraged to make the most of this extended period while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring a safe and memorable experience amidst the wonders of Kaziranga National Park.
