Assam: Kokrajhar Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother Over Drug Money

Guwahati, 25th June: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man from Kokrajhar, Assam, has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother after she refused to give him money for drugs.

The accused, Padopani Brahma, son of the late Professor Nagen Brahma, former principal of Kokrajhar Government College, was apprehended by police after the body of his mother, Parbati Brahma, was discovered in her residence at Kokrajhar Ward No. 8 Mwiderkhoro (Hatimatha).

Initial reports indicate that Padopani Brahma, who has a history of drug addiction, struck his 75-year-old mother on the head with a hard object following her refusal to provide him with money for drugs. The blow proved fatal, leading to her immediate death.

This tragic event has left the community of Kokrajhar in a state of shock and mourning.
