Guwahati, 19th May: In a tragic incident, a labourer died while four others sustained severe injuries after getting electrocuted by a live wire in Bongaigaon district of Assam on May 19.
The incident was reported from Jogighopa town of the district.
According to sources, the incident took place when the group of labourers was working near an electric cable on a high-power tower line.
While one of them died on the spot, four others suffered serious burn injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Zahirul Islam.
Meanwhile, the injured laborers have been identified as Shafiqul Islam, Mominul Islam, Aqidul Islam, and Mahinur Islam.
Following the incident, the injured were immediately rushed to Goalpara Solace Hospital in critical condition for immediate medical attention.
Sources further informed that the laborers were attempting to climb the tower line when the accident occurred.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Jogighopa police immediately arrived at the spot and have launched an investigation into matter.
