Assam: Lakhimpur’s MRF and Waste-to-Compost Plant; A Beacon of Sustainable Development
Lakhimpur: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today hailed the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) and Waste-to-Compost Plant in Lakhimpur as a groundbreaking initiative in waste management.
Sharing a video tour of the facility on X, Sarma praised its efficient design and meticulous waste segregation process, which not only recycles materials but also produces valuable compost for farmers.
“The MRF and Waste-to-Compost Plant in Lakhimpur is a testament to Assam’s commitment to sustainable development,” Sarma tweeted, emphasizing the plant’s role in enhancing the value chain.
Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, expressing gratitude for the transformative project. “Thank you, HCM sir. Your unwavering dedication to a Swachh Assam has made this possible,” Deka wrote on X.
