Assam Launches Orunodoi 3.0 to Boost Food Security
Guwahati, 19th September: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the Orunodoi 3.0 scheme on September 19, marking a significant enhancement in the state’s food security efforts. The expanded initiative will extend support to an additional 19,92,167 beneficiaries under the Food Security Act, broadening the reach of the program to a larger segment of Assam’s population.
The launch was celebrated across the state, initiating the process to identify and include these new beneficiaries. Chief Minister Sarma highlighted the government’s dedication to food security, emphasizing the significance of this expansion for the state’s welfare.
During the event, state minister and MLA Ashok Singhal provided details on the beneficiary selection process. He announced that public meetings would be held at the booth level in each village to ensure a transparent selection process. Singhal stressed that the implementation would be closely monitored to prevent any irregularities, emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards any form of corruption or malpractice.
Minister Singhal also issued a firm warning against any interference or attempts to disrupt the scheme’s rollout. He specifically noted that strict action would be taken against individuals or political entities, including members of the Congress, who might seek to obstruct the implementation of Orunodoi 3.0. “No person will be able to undermine the implementation of this scheme,” Singhal asserted, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the scheme’s success.
