Assam: Leopard Attack Leaves Two Women Injured in Geleki Tea Estate
Northeast Desk, 4th May: In a frightening turn of events, two female laborers, Babita Nayak and Pooja Nayak, suffered serious injuries following a leopard attack at the Modinagar tea estate in Geleki, Nazira. The harrowing incident transpired around noon today while the women were engaged in their work and were preparing to have lunch in the garden area.
Immediately after the attack, the injured women were rushed to the primary health center in Galeki for initial medical assistance. Subsequently, they were referred to Sivasagar for further treatment to address their injuries.
This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by laborers in tea estates, highlighting the need for enhanced safety measures to protect workers from wildlife encounters.
In a deeply distressing occurrence at the Kasujan tea estate in Tinsukia, an unidentified man fell victim to a heinous act as he was set on fire by unknown miscreants within the tea garden premises. The incident unfolded last night, prompting the intervention of local law enforcement.
