Assam: Leopard caged in Jorhat district
Guwahati: A fully-grown leopard has been captured by the forest department at Mohbondha tea estate in Assam’s Jorhat district on Thursday.
The leopard has been caged by the Jorhat Forest department following complaints by locals.
According to the locals the leopard had been creating terror and panic in the region for the past several days.
As per reports, there are more of them hiding in and around the tea estate that need to be captured and released into the wild as soon as possible.
In several parts of Northeast man-animal conflict problem is rising.
Earlier, another leopard was caught and caged after it created fear among the locals in Golaghat district, Assam.
It may be mentioned that with the help of locals and forest department caged the leopard at Betioni Kakoti Gaon area, under Khumtai assembly constituency.
