Assam: Leopard Captured in ONGC Residential Area
Guwahati, 22nd September: The leopard that had been observed in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) residential area in Nazira, Assam, was finally caught on Thursday after a time of anxiety and panic.
The forest department quickly took action after hearing news of the leopard’s appearance. Residents of the ONGC had been alarmed by the secretive huge cat’s movement through their neighborhood.
When the leopard was eventually captured in a godown close to the resource division headquarters of ONGC, the stressful situation came to an end. During the evening, the forest authorities set up a meticulously prepared trap in front of the godown.
The locals, who had been living in fear, were relieved when the leopard was successfully captured. The authorities have safeguarded the safety of the locals and put an end to this chapter of human-wildlife interaction in the area by carefully detaining the leopard.
