Guwahati: A full-grown leopard was killed after being hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle in Golaghat district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Panbari area in Bokakhat town.
According to reports, the big cat was run over by the vehicle on national highway 37 while it was trying to cross the road.
Following the incident, the speeding vehicle reportedly fled the scene.
Meanwhile, forest officials reached the spot and transported the leopard’s carcass for an autopsy.
