Assam: Leopard Terrorizes Villagers, Finally Captured
A menacing leopard that had been terrorizing residents of Bargolai, under the Lekhapani forest range office of Margherita Co-District in Assam, was finally captured in a cage on the night of December 8.
The elusive big cat had been causing widespread fear and damage for over a year, preying on domestic animals and posing a serious threat to human life.
Recently, Binod Borah, a local resident of Telkhad Basti, recounted a harrowing incident where his daughter was severely injured by the leopard just two months ago. The young girl was returning home from school on her scooter when the leopard attacked.
Following this terrifying event, the forest department swiftly took action and set up a cage to trap the dangerous animal. After weeks of patient waiting, their efforts finally paid off on Sunday night when the leopard was successfully captured.
A large crowd gathered to witness the captured leopard, eager to see the creature that had caused so much anxiety and distress. Forest department officials are now making arrangements to safely remove the animal.
