Assam likely to face LPG cylinder crisis

Guwahati: Assam may cause a lack of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders in the coming days since LPG transporters in the state would be shut down permanently starting on Monday.

This comes after the Northeast Packed LPG Transporter Association (NEPLTA) announced that a strike will begin immediately and last indefinitely.

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) officials have been called to strike by the NEPLTA because they have not complied with the requests of the local transporters.

Seven plants’ LPG transporters will be shut down starting today. A number of LPG plants, including those in North Guwahati, Tinsukia Gopanari, Sarpara, Bongaigaon, Dimapur, Slichar, and Duliajan, will shut down in support of the walkout.
