Assam Maintains Top Position in Resolving Public Grievances, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Announces
Guwahati, July 13, 2024: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has proudly announced that Assam has retained its status as a top performer in resolving public grievances for the third consecutive year. In a recent tweet, Sarma underscored this achievement as a testament to his government’s commitment and effectiveness in addressing citizen concerns.
“Happy to note that for the last 3 years, Assam continues to be a top performer state in resolving public grievances. A testament to our government’s ability to have its feet and ear to the ground. We will continue to work until our mechanism is the best in class,” Sarma tweeted.

The Chief Minister shared a circular highlighting the recent accomplishments, indicating that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) reported substantial progress in grievance redressal across the country. From July 1 to 11, Central Ministries/Departments resolved a total of 90,686 grievances, while States/UTs addressed 25,989 grievances. Assam itself successfully disposed of 3,192 grievances during this period.
Assam’s consistent performance in grievance redressal reflects the state government’s proactive approach and efficient handling of public concerns. Sarma’s administration aims to further enhance these efforts, ensuring that Assam’s grievance redressal mechanism remains exemplary.
The announcement comes as a reaffirmation of Assam’s commitment to improving governance and responsiveness to citizen needs, setting a benchmark for effective public service delivery in the region.
