Assam: Major Fire Erupts at Businessman’s Residence in Margherita on Diwali Night
Margherita, Assam – In the early hours of Diwali, a major fire broke out at the residence of a prominent businessman near Margherita’s central post office, raising alarms across the town.
The incident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on November 2, engulfing the third floor of the establishment in flames before local fire brigade units arrived.
Firefighters responded quickly, managing to contain and extinguish the blaze before it could cause extensive damage to the property.
Although the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, authorities suspect it may have been triggered by Diwali fireworks set off in nearby areas.
Margherita Municipal Board Chairman Anand Kumar Sharma rushed to the scene upon receiving news of the incident, assessing the situation to ensure all safety protocols were in place. An investigation is now underway to determine the precise origin of the fire.
