Assam: Major Forest Fire in Morigaon Contained After Hours of Effort

Morigaon – A major forest fire broke out on a hillock in Morigaon on the night of March 18, causing panic among the local residents. Prompt action by the public and the Morigaon Fire Brigade helped contain the blaze after several hours of rigorous firefighting, preventing a major disaster for both the people and wildlife in the area.

The fire was first spotted around 7 p.m. in the water-logged section of Baghra Hills by a group of locals. Strong winds fueled the flames, causing the fire to spread rapidly across a vast area, creating a terrifying scene. Alarmed residents immediately informed the fire brigade and also attempted to control the fire on their own.

Firefighters, supported by the public, worked together to extinguish the flames, successfully containing the fire and safeguarding nearby settlements and wildlife.

While the cause of the fire remains unclear, authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and take precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.
