Assam: Major Raid Uncovers Over Rs 3 Crore at Residence of Prominent Coal Trader in Margherita
Guwahati, 28th May: In a significant operation, the Margherita sub-divisional administration, in collaboration with the Margherita Police, conducted a raid at the residence of prominent coal trader Ron Lungsang, unearthing a staggering amount exceeding Rs 3 crore. The raid targeted Lungsang’s house in the Tikak area of Ledo and was initiated last night based on crucial intelligence.
The meticulously planned operation commenced at 2 am, with authorities focusing on Lungsang’s alleged involvement in illicit coal activities. The raid was fueled by suspicions regarding his connection to the death of three coal laborers, who tragically died while working underground at an illegal coal depot in Ledo Tikok West Mining.
Authorities believe that the clandestine coal mine, where the fatal incident occurred, is directly linked to Ron Lungsang’s operations. This raid marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal coal mining activities in the region and bring those responsible to justice.
