Assam: Major Terror Module Dismantled in Multi-State Operation

Assam: In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF), in collaboration with the Kerala and West Bengal Police, has successfully dismantled a major terror module linked to the global terror outfit Al-Qaeda.

The operation, codenamed “Operation Praghat,” resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, including a Bangladeshi national, across multiple states. The arrested individuals are suspected of planning and executing terror attacks in India, particularly in Assam and West Bengal.

The investigation, which began several months ago, revealed that the module was being operated by Md. Sad Radi, a Bangladeshi national who was sent to India to spread extremist ideology and recruit new members. Radi, along with other arrested individuals, was allegedly planning to target Hindu organizations and religious leaders to incite communal violence.

The STF conducted a series of coordinated raids in Kerala, West Bengal, and Assam, seizing crucial evidence, including mobile phones, propaganda material, and weapons. The operation highlights the increasing threat of terrorism in India and the need for heightened vigilance.
