Assam: Man Arrested for Attacking Wild Elephants in Golaghat

Guwahati, 12th December: Forest officials in Assam’s Golaghat district have taken one individual into custody for assaulting wild elephants, according to recent reports.

The person in custody has been identified as Kamal Gowala.

AS per reports, he allegedly attacked a herd of elephants as they passed through the Thuramukh Abhoyjan area.

Following the incident, the Golaghat Forest Department launched a search operation and apprehended Gowala under the Wild Life Protection Act.

Currently, he is under custody for further interrogation, as confirmed by sources.

During questioning, Gowala admitted his involvement, along with a few other individuals, in the attack on the wild elephants.
