Guwahati: A man was apprehended for alleged uxoricide in Tinsukia district of Assam on Thursday.
The incident was reported from Sikorajan area near Pengeri.
The accused husband has been identified as Juwel Tikarki.
According to reports, Tikarki strangled his wife to death with a burning stick.
Locals claimed that the husband-and-wife team frequently argued for reasons that only they knew, despite the fact that the motive for the homicide has not yet been determined.
The deceased woman has been identified as Margita Tikarki.
Following the incident, Pengeri police arrived on the scene and arrested the accused spouse.
According to the police, a case has been filed against him under the relevant sections.
