Assam Man Arrested in Arunachal for Allegedly Mutilating Brother’s Private Parts
Guwahati, 9th February: In a disturbing incident from Assam, 29-year-old Pranjal Roy, accused of mutilating his younger brother’s private parts over suspicions of an illicit affair, has been apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh. The arrest follows a harrowing ordeal where Pranjal allegedly attacked his brother, Dhananjit Roy, in a fit of rage.
The horrifying incident unfolded in December at Katla Pathar in Assam’s Bajali district. Reportedly, a confrontation erupted between the siblings due to suspicions of Dhananjit’s involvement in an illicit relationship. Fuelled by anger, Pranjal allegedly used a blade to sever his brother’s private parts before fleeing the scene, leaving Dhananjit critically injured and bleeding.
Following intensive investigations by the Bajali police, led by Additional SP Trinayan Bhuyan, Pranjal Roy was tracked down and apprehended in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh. The swift action by law enforcement has resulted in the resolution of this sensational case.
In addition to Pranjal’s arrest, police also detained his wife, Saraswati Roy, for her alleged involvement in the incident. The victim, 24-year-old Dhananjit Roy, is undergoing medical treatment for his injuries.
The arrest underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law, particularly in cases of heinous crimes. The collaborative efforts of the police have led to the apprehension of the accused, bringing a sense of closure to this distressing chapter.
