Assam: Man found dead in Nagaon’s Kandali, murder suspected
Guwahati, 11th June: In Kandali, Nagaon, allegations of murder have been made against two individuals following the tragic death of Kamal Deuri. Locals claim that Ajit Tanti and Kartik Tanti brutally beat Deuri last Wednesday over a dispute involving a girl.
Eyewitnesses report that tensions escalated over the dispute, leading to a violent confrontation. A local resident recounted, “It all started last Wednesday when this guy insulted the girl really badly. So, the girl brought her whole family, including the president, and they confronted him. Things got heated, and despite the manager’s instructions not to harm him, they ended up fighting. The family and the president beat him severely, and he was badly injured and had to be taken to the hospital.”
Kamal Deuri was rushed to the tea estate hospital for immediate medical attention. However, after receiving initial treatment, he was not allowed to return home, raising concerns among his family and community. “He received treatment at the tea estate hospital, but they didn’t let him go home to his family afterward,” disclosed an eyewitness.
The situation took a devastating turn when Deuri’s body was discovered in the tea estate. A local resident revealed, “When they finally released him and he was on his way home, yesterday, the president caught his brother making him run, and this morning, we found him hanging. It’s definitely not suicide; there were bruises and blood on his body.”
Amidst the shock and grief, Deuri’s family has accused Ajit Tanti and Kartik Tanti of involvement in his death. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation, with police officers present at the scene to gather evidence and uncover the truth behind the incident.
