Assam: Man Injured in Brutal Attack in Cachar; Probe Underway
Guwahati, 19th March: One man was injured after being allegedly assaulted by sharp weapons in Cachar district of Assam on March 18.
Witnesses stated that the assailant attacked the victim while brandishing deadly weapons.
Locals immediately intervened to save the youth who was injured and informed the police.
The attacker identified as Fayez Uddin Laskar, allegedly launched the attack on Abdul Khalik, the victim, as he was supposedly strolling by the Jama Masjid at Rajghat hamlet in the Dholai area of the Cachar district.
Khalik was hit by several sharp-edged blows that caused significant injuries, knocking him out.
Khalik’s attempts to repel the attacker in a desperate attempt to live ultimately backfired, resulting in serious injuries.
Alert residents grabbed Laskar and turned him over to the police as the attacker tried to leave the area.
There is still no apparent reason for Abdul Khalik’s attack, and inquiries are being conducted to solve the incident’s mystery.
In order to determine the circumstances leading up to the attack and apprehend those responsible, police have initiated a comprehensive investigation.
