Guwahati: In a unfortunate incident, a man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Saturday.
The incident was reported from Namsang tea estate near Naharkatia town.
The deceased identified as Bandhan Orang.
It is suspected that the tusker might have strayed into the tea estate in search of food.
Unfortunately, the wild elephant attacked the victim and mauled him.
Local police arrived on the scene after the incident and recovered the deceased’s body for post-mortem.
