Assam: Man kills wife over ‘illicit affair,’ Two held

Guwahati: A man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing his wife in Charaideo district of Assam as that she was in an illicit relationship with another person.

The incident took place at the Kanu Tea Estate of the district, close the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

The accused identified as Rajiv Garh aged 28-year-old a resident of Assam’s Sapekhati and his wife identified as Reena Garh and was 27-year-old.

It may be mentioned that Reena was discovered sleeping with Dhrup Kamakar, a 27-year-old man.

According to reports, after discovering his wife sleeping with Kamakar on Tuesday night, the husband began beating her with a stick, resulting in a large altercation between Rajiv and his neighbour Dhrup, although Dhrup eventually managed to flee.

However, Dhrup then reportedly returned to Garh’s residence along with a sharp weapon.

During the scuffle, Dhrup accidentally hits on Garh’s wife with his sharp weapon and she died.

Meanwhile, the Sapekhati Police arrived at the spot and arrested Dhrup and Rajiv for their involvement in the murder of Reema Garh.

Further investigation into the matter in underway.
